Kriston Liburd Charged for Cannabis Importation

Four charges have been filed against Kriston Liburd of Stoney Grove, Nevis, regarding contraband discovered at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts.

On April 8, 2025, officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) responded to a report from the St. Kitts-Nevis Customs and Excise Department.

At the airport, the officers were directed to a luggage bag belonging to Mr Liburd, which, upon examination by Customs, was found to contain one package of vegetable material that was later confirmed to be cannabis.

Mr Liburd was arrested and, on April 10, 2025, he was charged at the Basseterre Police Station with the following offences: (i) Importation of Cannabis; (ii) Submitting a False Declaration; (iii) Importation of a Restricted Good (cannabis); and (iv) Importing Goods Packed in a Manner Intended to Deceive a Customs Officer.
