(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The eagerly anticipated and much publicized drag race event that was to be held in Antigua this coming Sunday has been postponed.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Road East Sir Vivan Richards Cricket Stadium, the Legendary Drag Racing event is said to have been postponed due to weather condition which caused a delay in having the road completed for the event, as part of Independence celebrations for the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.
The announcement was made on Thursday, October 30, 2014 by the Antigua and Barbuda Drag Racing Association which indicated that a new date has been set for the event, Sunday, November 9, 2014.
The postponement of the race has been a disappointment to crew members and fans of ‘King of Cali’ who were excited to leave the Federation as originally planned.
Nonetheless, the owner of the car, Gavin ‘Moon’ Clarke told this media house that the Antiguan drag racers have one more week to prepare themselves to take on the Federation fastest car, the ‘King of Cali’.
‘King of Cali’ is the only car from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis that will participate in the event.
Gavin, along with his crew members and the ‘King of Cali’ fans are now expected to leave the Federation on November 7, 2014.
When asked what he expects to achieve in Antigua, Gavin stated that he hopes to dominate in Antigua as he does in Nevis. He also indicated that he would like to return to Nevis with the ‘1st Antigua Legend Cup for Drag Racing’ and make history for St. Kitts and Nevis.
The next planned race for Nevis is set for Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the St. James Raceway.
