Colin Kezron KEZIE Archibald, is currently, the only selectee in the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots line up for 2020, who is actually from the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
In a recent interview with NTV Sports, Kezie thanked the SKN Patriots franchise for including him in the prestigious team and vowed to do his utmost to ensure that the team wins the upcoming CPL tournament this year, which incidentally bowls off in Trinidad in mid-August.
Even though he is honoured to be in the lineup with so many international stars, Kezie is hoping that his selection, would serve to motivate other local players, to aspire towards making the team, next year or beyond.
His brand of cricket is to express himself freely. ‘Cricket is about entertainment and what better way to entertain a crowd than to hit sixes?’ He mused.
On the contrary, as a fast-medium bowler, he is working continually on his craft, in order to prevent batsmen from scoring freely off his bowling. He does not feel he is the type of bowler as yet, to ‘blast out batsmen,’ but feels that his many variations, such as slower balls and his attacking and defensive yorkers, can get him many wickets.
He thanked his family, his coaches, his many friends and fans, his teammates and the Nevisian public at large, for the enormous support he is receiving.
‘That kind of support serves as a motivator in itself,’ he stated.
He intends to give of his best, as his ultimate goal, is to represent the Windies team, in all formats.
His advice to younger cricketers is to stay focused; work hard and not get distracted from reaching to the heights of their game. ‘If you put in the work, you will get the results,’ he stated.
