Juvenile charged with attempted murder

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- What transpired between a juvenile and Virgil Martin of Craddock Road on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 that caused Martin to be shot is still sketchy. However, this media house has learnt that a juvenile was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 the seventeen year old appeared before the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court represented by Attorney Chesley Hamilton.

Hamilton asked the court to grant bail to his client who was charged with attempted murder. However, Her Honor, Magistrate Yasmine Clarke denied the bail application. As a result, the youngster was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison, St. Kitts.

On Tuesday, May 20 police officers responded to a shooting incident at Ramsbury Site in the vicinity of the Charlestown Primary School. Here, it was discovered that Martin had received a bullet graze to his ear.

Meanwhile police officers continue to investigate the shooting incident of Vernon Parris that occurred just one day after the Martin incident. Parris was shot in his shoulder while standing in the junction of a road leading to West Bury and the island main road.

Nevispages understands that no arrest has been made for this incident.
