Cotton Ground-Nevis-James Lewis has been designated by the Social Services Department’s Seniors’ division as the senior of the month of April, 2018.
One of the new initiatives of the department for the year 2018, has been the designation of certain seniors as the individuals of focus for each month of the year.
In a recent interview the vivacious and humorous Lewis noted that he was born in Barnes Ghaut but eventually moved to Cotton Ground to live as he ‘found what he was looking for,’ there.
He was of course referring to his wife.
He noted that his early education was achieved at the St. Thomas’ Primary school and very early after leaving school he joined his mother in farming lands at Tower Hill.
He spent most of his life in farming and even did an extended stint at the prestigious Four Seasons resort in the area of landscaping.
Now retired the amiable gentleman continues to keep a wonderful garden at home and spends his spare time in engaging in the many activities provided for the seniors on Nevis.
Having made his significant contribution to the Nevisian society, James Lewis is obviously one contended man.
