Sports officer at the Youth and Sports Department, Kelvin Bramble, confirmed on Wednesday, that the now annual inter High schools’ Basketball championship, will commence today –Thursday 25th April.
The teams will assemble at the Old Manor Basketball court in Gingerland, for the 2 pm commencement of the opening ceremony.
Among those expected to speak at the ceremony, are Hon. Troy Liburd-Minister of Education and Hon. Eric Evelyn-Minister of Social Development.
Immediately after that, defending champions Gingerland Secondary, will engage arch rivals, Charlestown Secondary, in the first match of the tournament.
The tournament will also feature, for the first time, The Nevis International Secondary School (NISS).
Matches will be played on Mondays; Wednesdays and Fridays, commencing at 3 pm and the venues will be alternated between the Old Manor Court and the Charlestown court.
