Basseterre, St. Kitts: The Guidance Counseling Department in the Ministry of Education prepares for Career Week 2023. Career Week will be observed from Monday, November 6, to Friday, November 10, 2023, under the theme “Navigating the Future: Developing Careers Beyond Boundaries”.
Mrs. Sasha-Gay McDermott, Guidance Counselor Coordinator, gave insight into the expectations for Career Week.
“As part of our week of activities, we decided to engage our stakeholders, who will be sharing different perspectives that would be beneficial to our parents. The focus of these sessions is a parent-child conversation – helping your child to find their niche. We hope that the conversations will be beneficial to not just parents, those prospective parents, and grandparents but also to our students and our nation at large.”
She further extended best wishes for the upcoming week.
“We do wish everyone a wonderful career week as we seek to explore beyond the box and to find the avenues that our children are interested in and to prepare them for the future world of work.”
All public schools across St. Kitts will observe Career Week as they host several activities that will allow students to get the opportunity to have an up-close look at the different career paths that they may be interested in.
