On Wednesday 5th June, a brief but significant ceremony was held at the Gingerland Secondary School.
On that day, during the morning assembly session, representatives of the Sports Department, duly presented the second placed GSS Basketball team, from the recently concluded Inter High Schools Basketball league, with their trophy and medals.
Officiating at the ceremony was Mr. Raymond RAYBO Smith and Basketball Coordinator, Mr. Jeffrey Lewis.
Mr. Smith in his remarks, apologized for the absence of a representative from the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, the school’s sponsor, who was unable to be present.
He lauded the school’s team for an excellent showing during the tournament, noting that they won their first game versus the eventual champion team CSS, but wilted in the finals.
Each player was presented with a medal by Mr. Lewis and a specially selected young lady from the school and the trophy was officially handed over to the Headmistress, Mrs. Lineth Williams.
She also took time out to congratulate the players and expressed her appreciation for the tremendous work put in by their coaches
