It was a close race from start to finish. Green house and Gold house had a ding-dong battle at the annual sports meet for the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary school, which was held at the Flats in Cole Hill, on Tuesday 7th March.
The distinguished patron for the day, was past student and athlete, Miss Janelle Esdaille.
After the impressive march past, the athletes competed in the 400; 800; 200; 100; 60; 4X100; 4X400 meters and some fun endurance races.
A huge crowd was in attendance but that filtered away slow towards the end, as the meet was interrupted by intermittent showers and a period of extreme cold air at the venue.
In spite of that, the energetic announcers: Eric, Della and Lester, kept the crowd lively, along with the DJ.
There were several close races and a number of records were shattered in the process.
In the final analysis, Green house just barely edged out Gold house by a mere 7 points.
