GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY WELCOMES PUBLIC—PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 22, 2016 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, says his government is open to partnering with the private sector in an effort to further develop the Federation and achieve the agenda of prosperity.

Speaking at the launch of the government’s new E-Portal at the Ocean Terrace Inn on Thursday, Dr. Harris commended Stachio Williams and Adam Anderson of Open Interactive (the company responsible for making the portal a reality) for the commitment shown towards nation building.

“I want to thank our friends in the private sector who have been providing advice and support liberally to the government,” said Prime Minister Harris, adding “we welcome all the ideas and we are going to put them to work at the appropriate time.”

Dr Harris further indicated that one should not get discouraged if the government had not implemented their idea as yet. “It’s no fault of yours, continue still to bring advice because sometimes it is a question of whether the idea’s time has come,” he said.

He assured all that the launch of the E- Government Portal is an example of the government’s commitment to partnering with the private sector.
