Digicel Press Release
“Biggest Party in Sport – now the Biggest Party in the World!”
Premier Sponsor of CPL, Digicel, attended an official CPL press conference earlier this week, with Minister of Sport, Glenn Phillip, Sports Director, Vernon Springer, CPL CEO, Damien O’Donohue & Cricketing Legend, Sir Ian Botham.
Speaking at the event from Christophe Harbour, Digicel St. Kitts & Nevis CEO, Johnny Ingle said, “This is, & will be, the biggest sporting event – not in the Caribbean – in the World! There is an old saying – you put your money where your mouth is – & Rick Ross will be performing. People will travel from North America, the UK, Europe, Central America, all over the Caribbean region: now is the time to secure your tickets to make sure you are part of the biggest party in the World & it’s right here, at home, in St. Kitts & Nevis!”

Marsha Chatterjee, Marketing Manager, Digicel St. Kitts & Nevis added, “This really is the event of the Summer: Superstar Hip Hop Artiste Rick Ross needs no introduction. In 2009, Ross founded the record label Maybach Music Group, on which he released his albums Deeper Than Rap, Teflon Don, God Forgives, I Don’t and Mastermind. He was the first artist signed to Diddy’s management company, Ciroc Entertainment, & in early 2012 MTV named Rick Ross “the Hottest MC in the Game”. Now, he will headline for CPL, right here at the football stadium at Warner Park!”
CPL will also host “Beefy’s Bash, a star-studded charity game to be a highlight of final week celebrations in St. Kitts. Cricketing royalty, Sir Ian Botham and Brian Lara, have been designated as captains for the two teams, and have issued a call to arms to cricketing superstars, personalities and fans across the world to take part. In spite of his chastening experience against Australian fast bowler, Brett Lee, over Christmas, Piers Morgan was the first to volunteer, and has been snapped up by fellow Englishman, Botham.
