Well-known Sports commentator and Analyst, Frankie Claxton, who is vacationing on Nevis, has added his voice to the eternal debate on West Indies Cricket.
In reference to the men’s senior team, Claxton noted: “We cannot say that they have turned the corner because they have not even reached the corner as yet.’
However, he indicated that he was impressed with the effort and energy demonstrated by the team in the recent T-20 series versus England.
He believes that this team and other players who are on the fringes of selection will make a definite impression going forward.
‘He however warned that the real test will come on the upcoming tour to India.
He believes that if they really give it their all in India, they will be able to compete, but anything less than their best will spell woe for the team.
He is hopeful that the new selection panel, led by the Hon. Desmond Haynes can make a difference in ensuring that the best players are given their opportunity and those who are definitely not producing, be weeded out.
