Charlestown –Nevis—Former outstanding Educator on Nevis, Ms Lyndis Walters was the recipient of a fruit basket on Friday 8th May.
The presentation was made by Community Development Officer for Charlestown, Mr. Othneil Daley.
The CDO explained that such a presentation was long overdue because Ms Walters would have excelled in her chosen profession as a Teacher and would have also served as an outstanding Headmistress as well.
Additionally, she has also served as a local preacher within the Methodist church on the island.
Mr. Daley noted that the Community Development Department decided to use the opportunity during the month of May to make such a presentation, as the officers focus on activities for the ongoing community development month.
“She has made an outstanding contribution to our community and it is only one small way that we are saying ‘thank you ‘ to her,” he stated.
Ms Walters for her part, was gracious in her response: ‘Thanks for remembering me,’ she stated.
‘This is really appreciated.’
Daley was assisted in making the presentation by Ms Juliet Francis.
The presentation was made at the home of the recipient which is located at Craddock Road.
