After a successful campaign in Florida, St. Kitts and Nevis under 17 women’s team has returned home.
They dished out a 4 -1 defeat to the US Virgin Islands and a 2-nil victory over Surinam in the CONCACAF under 17 women’s tournament.
They, therefore, topped group A and have advanced to the CONCACAF women’s under 17 championships, to be played in January 2022.
Coach Earl Jones was high in praise for the efforts of the team and thanked the backroom staff for their support.
Captain Malaika Rouse also praised her teammates and noted that the game against Surinam was much tougher than the first game against the USVI team.
The Sugar Girls are looking forward to excelling in the upcoming qualifiers in January, with the ultimate goal of making it to the 2022 FIFA under 17 women’s world cup.
