A fair-sized crowd was on hand to witness football action hosted by the SKNFA, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium on the evening of Saturday 20th May.
Match one saw St. Paul’s taking on Saddlers and the champion team walked away easy winners with a 4 to nil margin.
However, the highly anticipated feature encounter between the local Bath United team and the Cayon team was certainly the talking point.
The two teams had a hard-fought first half and despite a few possible chances, ended the half with a scoreline of nil-all.
The second half seemed even more intense, as both teams strived really hard to score.
As fate would have it, shortly thereafter, it was Bath United with a corner kick and as the Bath striker moved forward to attempt a header, it appeared as if he was pushed by a Cayon defender and a penalty was awarded.
The Bath striker promptly put it away and there was a loud eruption at the stadium.
Bath United had indeed equalized.
For the remaining minutes in the game, both teams played cagily, trying to ensure that at least the game would end in a draw.
Final score: Bath United 1 Cayon 1
