Football : Bath Falters Yet Again but Holds On

It was yet another weekend of SKNFA Football action at the Nevis Athletic Stadium.

On Saturday 22nd July, two games were played at the venue.

In game one, Hardtimes faced off with Molineux.

By the end of the first half, Hardtimes was leading with a 1-goal to nil margin.

However, early in the second half, Molineux equalized and the game ended in a 1-all draw.

In the feature match of the evening, Bath United engaged the powerful St. Paul’s team in a Premier Division fixture.

The Bath team sent shockwaves into the St. Paul’s camp, by scoring not once, but twice, by the end of the first half. Both of the goals were scored by Romario Daniel.

However, the Bath fans were holding their breath.

They knew what had transpired in the last game when Newtown came for 3 –nil down to equalize, against the home team.
Well, with six minutes remaining in the game, the Bath team appeared to be home safe.

But not so. Out of nowhere, ace striker, Keithroy Freeman, pounced on a loose ball and struck the back of the net.
Just before the final whistle, Nicquan Phipps scored the equalizer. Bath United had once again failed to seize the moment, against a major team.

Final Score-2-all.
