If anybody is thinking that competitive Tennis is dead on Nevis– well they better think again. Not as long as the Four Seasons Resort’s Tennis Pro, Chris Myrold has anything to say about it.
The annual tennis tournament between departments at the Resort, was held at the courts of the prestigious hotel on Thursday 20th June.
The third annual tournament saw participation from four departments:
A and G—Executive office, Human Resources and Security
Rooms division—House keeping; Front office; Concierge
Sports—Golf and Tennis
Food and Beverage-the defending champions.
Each team comprised of four players and the competition was structured into the playing of doubles matches which had an elimination round, leading into the championship matches.
At the end of the preliminary rounds, the two leading teams were Food and Beverage with 15 points and Sports with 13.
The two teams then faced off in the championship rounds and after some scintillating exchanges between the teams, Food and Beverage prevailed as champions once again winning by a margin of 3 games to 1.
The Food and beverage team comprised of:
Ian Brueggeman-captain
Kelvin BLACKIE Phillip
Marko Krancher
Pedro Neto
According to Kelvin BLACKIE Phillip, as he held the winner’s trophy aloft: ‘We will be holding this for the next ten years!’
