FLOW St. Kitts & Nevis Awarding Academic Excellence

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts & Nevis (December 13th, 2016) – For over 3-decades Cable & Wireless St. Kitts & Nevis Ltd. now trading as FLOW has committed itself to the recognition of the academic excellence of our students and teachers here in the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, through the hosting of the aptly name Academic Excellence Awards.
This annual event recognizes and awards our students for excelling in their overseas exams at the secondary and tertiary levels, allowing FLOW an opportunity to give back and show its appreciation to students for their hard-work and to teachers for exemplary dedication during the just completed academic year.

Over the years, the company has partnered with the Ministry of Education and the St.Kitts & Nevis Chamber of Industry & Commerce to host these most deserved students and teachers at a special Banquet meant to congratulate and award them for their outstanding performance. Though FLOW has always single-handedly taken the role of Signature Sponsor of this lavish affair, for the hosting of this the 30Th Annual Academic Excellence Awards an invitation was extended to and graciously accepted by the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, the host-venue of the Banquet, to co-sponsor this year’s Awards.
Speaking on behalf of the Telecommunication Provider at the awards banquet, Mr.Michael Davis Finance Manager FLOW St. Kitts-Nevis & BVI stated, “We are delighted to be here with all the very proud parents, guardians, family members and friends, to celebrate the academic achievement of these remarkable young men and women, who
have committed themselves to choosing the positive route in this ever growing world of distractions”. He continued, “FLOW has been transforming the lives of our youths, through our scholarship program that has been up and running since 1988. For 28 years now we have been granting full 7-year scholarships to 8 outstanding primary school grandaunts. The Scholarship covers all direct school related expenses including uniforms,textbooks and exams fees. We currently have 55 students enrolled in this programme.”
Also in attendance was FLOW St. Kitts & Nevis General Manager, Mr. Lake David who commented, “The Academic Excellence Awards is just one of a plethora of signature events that constitute the core of our company’s commitment to the growth and development of our nation’s youth. We have proudly maintained a long-standing history
of supporting not only our educational institutions, but also more importantly our students and teachers at all levels. It is through this and many other partnerships in the field of education that we will continue to ensure that as a company we connect all of our communities and transform lives”.
During this year’s Award Banquet, a total of 73 students (68 CSEC and 5 CAPE) were acknowledged for their academic performance, with special honours being bestowed upon Mr. Philmon Roberts of CFBC for his achievement of the State Scholar Award for 10 subject passes with all 1’s. The top CSEC honours went to Mr. Rol-J Williams of the
Gingerland High School who achieved 17 subject passes with all 1’s.
For this the 3oth Annual Academic Awards, FLOW wishes to congratulate all the awardees, their parents and friends, our teachers and educators and the Federation as a whole for these bright-stars, who will no doubt further themselves to be our leaders of tomorrow.
