MIAMI, Fla. – Cable and Wireless’ residential brand, Flow, is saying “Hello” to the Caribbean. By endorsing the rising Soca Star Shanta Prince and making her hit song “Hello” the brand’s regional anthem, Flow is showing the Caribbean region that it is supporting our home-grown talent – and giving them more opportunities to display that talent for the whole world to see.
Shanta Prince, a relatively new entrant to the Caribbean music scene, is quickly stationing herself as a gifted soca artiste who is a powerhouse on the stage. She has become a staple of the Crop Over Season with her hits “Down Deh,” “Do Road,” “Sweat” and “Wukkie Wukkie,” all of which have been performed at a variety of big-time events. Shanta’s career as a performer is expected to be long and successful, especially if she can keep up the momentum generated by her 2014 release, “Stush.” Indeed, the interest and hype she continues to garner is forecasting her future success on the world stage – in which Flow is glad to help.
“It is a true privilege to not only work in collaboration with Shanta Prince, but to have her song “Hello” as Flow’s anthem,” said John Reid, President of Flow. “We felt this was not only a chance to associate a great song with our brand, but also a way to signal to other Caribbean artistes that we look for any opportunity to give them a platform for exposure, so they can turn their dreams into reality.”
If anyone can speak to the effect of Flow’s role as stalwart it is Shanta, who just recently stated that becoming a brand ambassador for Flow has been “one of her greatest successes” in her young career. So far, “Hello,” which was written by Trinidadian artist Sekon Sta, has been played in the markets which have launched the new and refreshed
Flow brand. Throughout that time Shanta has become one of the more prominent faces for the brand.
“As an artiste, it is refreshing to work with a company that seeks out opportunities to endorse local content creators and give them a platform for exposure,” said Shanta Prince.“Working with Flow has been a great experience; the positivity surrounding their brand and the support with which they have provided me is more than I could ask for, and I look forward to furthering our relationship in the coming months.”
As the brand continues to work towards securing more partnerships and sponsorship opportunities for local artistes, one thing remains certain; Flow is saying “Hello” to the Caribbean, and wants to make sure everyone can hear it.
