The now annual, much anticipated Football game between fathers and non-fathers, organized by the Bath United Football club, was held at the Bath Village Playing field on Sunday 16th June-fathers’ day.
A goalless first half, was effectively the proverbial ‘calm before the storm,’ as both teams trooped off for a brief reprieve.
The second half commenced in dramatic fashion however, as seconds into the half, the fathers got home one into the back of the net, but to their chagrin, it was ruled as an off side goal.
That was the signal for the non-dads to step up their game.
A well strung set of passes, saw the ball landing flush into the back of the net and the ball had hardly settled for the resulting kick off, when within seconds, the non-dads had broken free once again, to sink another goal.
About five minutes later, they added yet another.
Despite their best efforts, the Dads failed to convert but manged to hold the score to 3 goals to nil, when the final whistle was blown.
Final score: Non dads 3 Dads nil
