Charlestown-Nevis—Long serving and outstanding Businesswoman, Ms. Eulalie Bedola Williams, passed away on Saturday 7th November.
Ms. Williams was known for her generosity; her warm smile; keen sense of humour and ready laugh.
One aspect of her generosity was revealed when at one point one of her workers made a sickness benefit claim at Social Security. Lo and behold, the worker received her 65% for the sickness benefit and Ms. Williams gave her the full weekly wage in addition.
She and her husband Edmund, who predeceased her, operated Main Street Supermarket for quite a number of years and the ideally placed supermarket was a joy for their many customers. After the death of her husband, Ms. Williams continued the operation for many more years.
Later, as she slipped into her retirement years, she continued to enjoy life and watching a good game of cricket was one of her favourite past times.
Former President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Carlisle Powell, recalls that Ms. Williams would usually park her vehicle on the hillside at the ET Willet Park, as she supported her Nevis team. That support was generally backed with monetary incentives for excellent performances.
As a staunch Methodist, she was previously a very active member of the Girls Brigade and was always forefront in many community based activities. She was also previously actively involved with the Nevis Red Cross society.
Yvonne Rawlins and family described her thus:

The funeral service for the late Ms. Eulalie Bedola Williams was held at a packed Charlestown Methodist Church, on Monday 16th November.
Included in those paying tributes were: Pandora Coverley; Girls Brigade; Red Cross; Elton Hull; Clarence Hendrickson; Charlestown Methodist Church; Mowava Liburd; Llewellyn Parris; National Bank group, Chilstone Francis and Basil Manners on pan.
The formal remembrance was presented by her granddaughter Sashia Godet and grandson Gregory Richards.
The sermon was presented by Rev. Telford Matthew who was the officiating minister at the service.
Among those left to mourn are her children: Diana Richards; Julietta Williams-Godet and Edison Williams. Her step daughter Beverly Nunes and family and her grandchildren, Gregory Richards, Sashia Godet and Fiba Daniel.
