Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 18, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of and Arrest, Convictions and other Activities from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. For period May 15-17.
ARREST/BAIL:
Arrested: Charlsie Liburd at College Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on an “E” Form for the following offences:- Three(3) counts of battery, two(2) counts of assault and making use of Indecent language committed on May 14, 2016.
Arrested: Ian Hull of Cunningham Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on two Warrants in The First Instance for the Illegal Possession of a firearm and Illegal Possession of fourteen .40 rounds of ammunition.
Arrested: Dionis Underwood of New Road Project was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following Offences (1) Driving motor car Pa 456 when she was not covered by insurance (2) Failing to report a Traffic Accident, the offences were committed on May 13, 2016 on Liverpool Row.
Arrested/Bailed: A juvenile was arrested, formally charged and cautioned in the presence of his mother and a Probation Officer for the Offence of Driving without a valid and unexpired licence, Driving a vehicle without insurance, Taking/using vehicle without the consent of the owner, Assault, Failing to comply with traffic sign, Failing to bring a vehicle to a stop before turning into a principle road and failing to comply with the lawful direction of a Police Officer. Bail was granted in the sum of $5000.00 XCD and juvenile was ordered to appear at the at Basseterre Magistrate Court on a forthcoming date.
Arrested/Bailed: Darren Francis of Rawlins Housing Project, St. Pauls, was arrested and formally charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis committed on May 16, 2016 in Brighton. He was granted bail in the of $1,000.00 and was ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 6th June 2016 at 9’oclock in the forenoon.
Bailed: Dwayne Ward of Chapel Street Dieppe Bay who was arrested and formally charged for the offences of Malicious Damage, Battery and Trespassing committed on May 12, 2016 at Dieppe Bay was granted bail in the sum of $8000.00 and ordered to appear at Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday, June 6 at 09:00 in the forenoon.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
None to report.
OTHER ACTIVITY:
Larceny from a Dwelling or House: Police are investigating a report of Larceny from a Dwelling or House on West Street in Basseterre. The complainant reported that a sum of money was taken from his dwelling. Investigation is ongoing.
House Breaking and Larceny: Police are investigating a report of House Breaking and Larceny that occurred at a residence on the Newtown Bay Road. Inquiries revealed that occupant secured his house at about 10.20pm on May 16 and about 7:30am on May 17, he discovered his house broken into and a number of items missing. The scene was processed the Crime Scene Unit. The investigation is ongoing.
Traffic Accidents: The Traffic Department responded to and investigated 7 traffic accidents on the Federation’s roadways during the period 15-16 May. No serious injuries resulted in any of the accidents. Six were on St. Kitts, one in Nevis.
Community Involvement:
Police continue to ensure citizen safety by conducting random stop and searches, vehicular check points, increased mobile patrols and searches of abandoned houses and lots. This is done to rid the communities of illegal firearms, drugs and other instruments that can be used in criminal and anti-social activity.
Incident Free weekend Festivals: Head of the Operations Directorate ACP Terrance James and the Divisional Commanders for Division “A” and “C” commended festival organizers of the “Green Valley Festival” in Cayon and “Winfest” in St. James Parrish on Nevis for encouraging attendees to help keep the festivals safe. Police recorded no incidents during the weekend festivities.
School Liaison Visits: Officers assigned as school liaison officers continue to visit primary and secondary schools in the Federation. The visits provide an opportunity for student and officer interaction, allow for administrators to engage in dialogue regarding school safety concerns and builds strong school and Police Relationships.
