Basseterre: St. Kitts: The Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU) on Friday, February 09 hosted a one-day workshop for supervisors and proprietors who manage the care and education of children in the Early Childhood sector. The activity was held under the theme “Building a Winning Team” at the CUNA Conference Room.
Ms. Kimona Brown, Director of ECDU in welcoming remarks elucidated the purpose for the retreat, “This retreat is a chance to strengthen bonds, build trust and forge a truly winning team. A team that will conquer any challenge and exceed our expectations.
Your presence at this retreat is a testament to your commitment to constant growth and development. You understand that even the mightiest Oak starts as a tiny seed, nurtured by collaboration and shared knowledge. Just as Helen Keller reminds us, ‘alone we can do little, together we can do so much’.”
Ms. Browne continued “We will engage in thought-provoking activities, participate in workshop sessions, and share best practices. Let us embrace open communication, challenge ourselves constructively and most importantly have some fun along the way. With the spirit of collaboration and optimism, I officially welcome you to this journey of teamwork and empowerment.
Let’s embark on this retreat with open minds, open hearts and a shared vision building a winning team that propels our sector to new heights. Think of our sector as a ship navigating toward a shared destination.
As supervisors and proprietors, you are the captain on the bridge guiding your teams with skills and dedication.”
The 2024 Professional Development Retreat is the first of many to be held by the Early Childhood Development Unit.
