Dr Norgen Wilson Soho United FC thrashes Unique Touch FC 5-2

Basseterre, St. Kitts (October 28, 2013) — With 15 points from 8 games played so far, Dr Norgen Wilson Soho United FC is running a good race in the entertaining National Caribbean Insurance Ltd Sandy Point Community Football League 2013, and making good their threat that they intend to run away with the trophy.

On Saturday October 26, the team faced Unique Touch FC in an entertaining game refereed by Graeme Browne, and beat them 5-2. Akeem Saunders, best known for his exploits on the cricket pitch, scored two goals the first in the 18th minute when he drew the first blood and was on target again in the 33rd minute.

Jaquille Richardson also scored two goals, the first one in the 26th minute and the second one which sealed the fate for the opposing team in the 41st minute, while in between those goals, Shane Jeffers brutalised the losing team with a thunderous goal in the 37th minute.

On the Unique Touch FC side, gallant efforts were made by Jamarie James who scored a goal in the 23rd minute and Vraine Samuel in the 28th minute, but their efforts were not well supported by the rest of the players as much as they did try, and ended up on the losing side. The team now has six points from seven matches, of which they have only won two.

The second game played on Saturday, which was also refereed by Graeme Browne, saw Cleverly Hill United FC lose 1-3 to the Alley United FC in a game where their Leroy Stevens was the first to score in the 15th minute. Stung by the goal, the Alley’s Lyndon Johnson rocked the opponent’s net in the 19th minute and Joseph Carty in the 27th while Gavin Marsham ensured victory with a 41st minute goal.

As of Saturday October 26 the Alley United FC was in the second position in the league standing, with 18 points from eight games. Cleverly Hill United FC are in the seventh position with nine points from six games played, where they lost three of them.

On top of the league with 18 points (as is Alley United FC) is Sandy Point Future Ballers FC based on the fact that they played seven games and won six conceding only three goals, the lowest in the league so far.

The National Caribbean Insurance Ltd Sandy Point Community Football League 2013 took a break on Sunday October 27 as there was a St. Kitts Nevis Football Association game between Sandy Point FA and Newton Ground FC, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
