Charlestown -Nevis-Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), Dr. Janice Daniel -Hodge recently reacted to the first murder of the year on Nevis in this facebook post:
“I was saddened last evening to learn of the senseless death of a young man in Bath village. Let me first convey my deepest condolences to the family and close friends. While death is inevitable, we can never come to terms with it; but one thing we should never accept, it’s the senseless shootings and killings.
We have lost too many lives through gun violence. One life lost is one too many. While there has been a relative calm, we must never let our guard down. We must continue our forceful fight against crime.
Justice must be served and swiftly. The law enforcement team has my fullest support in their endeavors to get the perpetrators off the streets; not just in this matter but in previous matters as well.
We appreciate and value the peace and tranquility for which Nevis is known and we must do all in our power to protect our island and our people.
May we find comfort in God’s love.”
