Dominica witnesses smooth processing of nomination day on November 18

Roseau. Dominica: As the general election of the Commonwealth of Dominica is approaching, the process of nomination day has started on November 18, 2022. Supporters of the Labour Party and independent supporters came out in their numbers to peacefully support the nomination of their favourite candidates.

Dominica Labour Party stated, “We thank the Lord our God above for guiding us through a peaceful and democratic nomination day.”

This is how democracy is supposed to work, and they thank God for that. It is clear that there will be a robust campaign and choices for Dominican voters. They thank God for His blessing of democracy.

Various Dominicans were recorded to say that the Labour Party is renewing with a number of new candidates, and they are thankful for these young people. They thank them for stepping up and choosing to serve their country. And they ask that God give them guidance in their campaign and if they are honoured by the people to serve in government.

The political leaders who stepped out for the nomination stated that they thank God for giving them the service of past Parliamentarians from all parties, and they ask God to continue to bless them as they move on to serve Dominica in other ways.

Candidates cited, “We must continue to pray for peace and stability in our country as we move through this election period and then, thereafter, come together peacefully to celebrate Jesus’ birth on December 25. Together, we pray for peace and stability.”

Prime Minister of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, announced the snap general elections which will be held on December 6, 2022. Various political leaders such as Dr Irving McIntyre and Vince Henderson, and PM Skerrit submitted their nominations.

PM Roosevelt Skerrit, after nomination, said that he was duly nominated for the 6th time.

Dr McIntyre stated that his nomination as the Labour Party candidate for December 6 2022, General Elections took place in the scenic village of Laudat.
