Game three of the 2019 edition of the High Schools’ Basketball tournament on Nevis, was played at the Old Manor court on the afternoon of Thursday 9th May.
Both schools went all out to ascertain that their cheer leaders were in position from very early in the game.
It was a one-all situation with both teams securing a win each, leading into the final game.
It was a ding dong battle-at least right up to the third quarter, with CSS at one time leading by a mere two points.
However, with their Coach Jeffrey Lewis, screaming his lungs out and wringing the changes at a fast and furious pace, suddenly the GSS team, despite the vociferous home support, wilted under the pressure and missed the hoop consistently and allowed numerous turn overs to the opposition.
Towards the end of the game, it was obvious that the defending champions GSS, had given up the ghost, as CSS converted hoop, after hoop.
When the final whistle was blown, the CSS team had gone clear, to be overwhelming winners and champions.
Final score: CSS 49 GSS 37
The CSS team and their supporters then went into wild celebrations
