The Charlestown Secondary School’s Cricket team, easily disposed of their counterparts at the Gingerland Secondary School, as the 2018 edition of the Federation high School’s annual cricket competition, commenced on Monday 5th March.
CSS won the toss and opted to bat first and amassed a competitive 172 for 8 in their 25 overs.
The aggressive left hander, Trishawn Francis, completed a fine, undefeated half century, to lead the charge for his team.
Zario Chumney, with his three wickets, was the pick of the GSS bowlers.
When the GSS team batted, they were simply unable to cope with the off spin of Sharma, who picked up a six wicket haul, to undermine his opponents.
Summarized scores: CSS 172 for 8 in 25 overs: Trishawn Francis 65*
Zario Chumney 3 wickets; Jelani Manners, Tiwan Prentice and K. Nisbett 1 each
GSS 46 all out in 16.2 overs: Tiwan Prentice 14
Sharma 6 wickets; Tuckett, Carmichael and Wallace 1 each.
CSS won by all of 126 runs.
