Cricket Yellow Flamingos Led by Nevisian Carlon Bowens Tuckett Win in Under 19 Trials

The Yellow Flamingos engaged the Blue Dolphins in the grand finals of the West Indies under 19 trial matches, being played in Antigua, on Saturday 14th August.

The Flamingos were once again led by Carlon Bowles Tuckett of Nevis.

The Blue Dolphins batted first and were right away undermined by the seam and swing generated by Nathan Edwards of St. Maarten, to be pegged back very early in their innings.

Later on, M. Clarke bowled a devastating spell, to bag 4 wickets for just 8 runs, which later earned him the man of the match award.

The Dolphins were bowled out for just 76.

Carlon Bowens Tuckett was fantastic behind the stumps, taking a couple of superlative catches.

The Flamingos, stumbled slightly in their response, as Nevisian Justin Amurdan failed to get off to a good score, this time around, but eventually wiped off the required target in just 15 overs, for the loss of 1 wicket, with Bishop leading the way, with an undefeated half-century.

The original 56 member trial squad has been reduced to 25.

We are awaiting official word as to the selectees.

That 25 will later be reduced to the 18, to be selected for the upcoming tour to the UK.

Summarized scores: Blue Dolphins 76 all out in 25 overs: Arnold 19; Jagessar 12

M. Clarke 4 for 8; Nathan Edwards 3 for 18

Flamingos 80 for 1 in 15 overs: T. Bishop 51*; A. Browne 8
