After an exciting knockout tournament last week, the Village Premier League officially began on Sunday, May 19th at the Hardtimes playfield.
The first match was not played as Easterns failed to show with a full starting lineup by the 2 pm cutoff time. A friendly pick-up match was hastily arranged to entertain the spectators.
The Hosea Pluck team played against the Carlon Smithen team in a six-overs-per-side contest. The Smithen team scored 26 runs in their allotted six overs, but Pluck led his team to victory in just over two overs.
The first official match of the tournament was played immediately after.
