Cricket : Two Kittitian Lasses Off to Under 19 World Cup

On Wednesday, January 1st, officials from the St. Kitts Cricket Association, along with the Honorable Denzil Douglas, gathered at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport to officially send off two St. Kitts U19 female cricketers: Jahzara Claxton from Sandy Point and Aaliyah Weekes from St. Paul’s. They were departing for Malaysia to join the other members of the Windies team.

James Warde, who has been instrumental in the preparation of these young athletes, was also present at the send-off.

The Windies Under-19 team will be competing in the Under-19 Women’s tournament for the ICC World Cup 2025. They will participate in a pre-tournament camp from January 5 to 10. Their preparation will also include two warm-up games: against Nepal on January 13 and against New Zealand on January 15, leading up to their opening group-stage match on January 19.
