Cricket : Nevis Masters Win T20 Cup 2025

An exciting three-way tournament occurred in St. Kitts and Nevis over the weekend of March 14th to 16th. The three teams involved were the Nevis Masters, the St. Kitts Masters, and the visiting Hoboken Masters club from New Jersey, USA.

In the preliminary rounds, both local teams defeated the visiting Hoboken Masters. St. Kitts easily triumphed over Nevis in their initial matchup.

The grand finals occurred on Sunday, March 16th, at the Conaree grounds, where Nevis faced St. Kitts. Nevis batted first and scored a competitive total of 142 runs in their allotted twenty overs.

As the match progressed, St. Kitts seemed to have everything under control, needing just four runs in the final over to win. However, skipper Joel Simmonds entrusted the last over to Laborde, who delivered a spectacular performance. He clean bowled one batsman, and then a panic-induced run out followed, resulting in only two runs being scored in that over. Nevis won the championship trophy by a narrow margin!

The visiting team members expressed their satisfaction with the hospitality they received during the tour and are looking forward to many more similar exchanges in the future.
