On Sunday, 2nd June, the Village Premier League saw the Guyanese facing off against Easterns in their second match. Easterns didn’t have a great start, with Sterling Marshall getting out for a duck on the very first ball. They struggled and only managed to score 64 runs in their 12 overs. The Guyanese team easily chased down the required runs in less than 6 overs.
There will be no matches in the VPL this coming Sunday, as players have been asked to attend the funeral service of the late sports icon, Lester Blackette.
However, on Sunday, 16th June, there will be an exciting fun day with cricket matches between village teams, dominoes, bun eating competition, mango eating competition, fun races, and more. The event will also include music, food, and drinks. Winners of events will receive cash prizes. Regular scheduled matches will resume on Sunday, 23rd June.
