Saturday 16th September is designated as National Heroes’ Day in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
It will be a public holiday and tributes will be paid in honour of the individuals who have already received the designation of national hero.
Nevisians are awaiting a significant proclamation that Elquemedo Tonito Willet, the first Nevisian and Leeward Islander to make it into the West Indies cricket team, will be pronounced a National hero.
The ball is in the court of the powers that be.
We sincerely hope that good sense will prevail and we hope that the designation will be made while the goodly gentleman is still alive and in his right mind.
