Cotton Ground youth charged with possession of firearm and ammunition

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- On Sunday, October 20, 2013 Police Officers on Nevis arrested a group of young men who were assembled at a shop in Cotton Ground playing a game of cards.

The arrest came about when police officers approached the group and one of the males allegedly tried to dispose of a weapon.

During the course of this week, five of the men were released leaving the lone youngster of Cotton Ground, Miles ‘Milo’ Walters in trouble with the law.

He was formally arrested and charged yesterday Wednesday, October 23, 2013 for possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.

High praises were given to Police Officers in St. Kitts who were also able to retrieve a firearm from off the streets in St. Kitts.

This finding came a day after the success removal of a firearm in Nevis. Levi Smith of Cayon Village was formally arrested and charged for the offences of possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, which were committed on Monday, October 21, 2013.

Citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis continue to encourage police officers to do their job to the best of their ability as they continue to fight to eradicate crime in the Federation.
