Continuous Robberies On Nevis

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Over the past weeks a number of homes in the Gingerland, Jessups, Cotton Ground and Charlestown area were reported broken into. Some persons were seen on Facebook venting their frustrations and pleading to the bandits to stop the pilfering and go out to earn an honest pay.

The latest incident was reported this weekend when a male in the community of Ramsbury Site was targeted. It was reported that about 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2013 an intruder climbed onto the second floor of his apartment and gained entry inside.

Armed with a gun the interloper attacked the male and robbed him of his gold chain, gold bracelet and money then escaped the scene.

This media house also understands that the business place of Mem’s Pizzeria located at Prospect Estate was robbed on Friday night. According to information received at about 10: 30 p.m. two masked gunmen entered into the establishment at the rear of the kitchen while patrons were assembled at the front of the building.

Further information revealed that the intruders took the cash pan and exited the building and headed east. However in an attempt to escape the scene by jumping over a fence, one of the bandits dropped the cash pan which was later retrieved.

These matters are still being investigated by the Police Department.

This media house also understands that police are continuing to investigate the robbery of one of the island’s largest supermarkets some weeks ago.
