Charlestown-Nevis-Officials from the Ministry of Health recently took time out to alert members of the general public of a very important screening session that will start on Monday 28th January.
Ms. Sheilagh James of the Health Promotion Unit, indicated that her Unit has been advertising the annual campaign via their face book and you tube pages, along with adverts on NTV channel 8 and community calendar.
Minister of Health, Hon. Hazel Brandy –Williams urged persons to take advantage of the screening and pointed out that it was absolutely FREE of cost.
She noted that it is the ninth year that Dr. Amory and his team will be visiting Nevis to conduct the screening program and stated that early detection, lends to early intervention, which can save lives.
Matron Aldris Dias indicated that the screening will commence on Monday 28th January at the Alexandra Hospital and will begin with the assessments of persons attending and will run until February 1st.
‘Early detection, saves lives,’ she stressed.
