Christchurch squeeze 10-run victory over Back Street in James Harris Cricket League‏

Basseterre, St. Kitts (November 14, 2016) — National player Larry Audain received an all-round support from Eldeane Huggins to see Christchurch squeeze a narrow 10-run win over a determined Back Street in the on-going James Harris Cricket League at the Mansion Stadium on Sunday November 13.
 
In the second game of the afternoon with a moderate and partisan crowd at the stadium watching and cheering the home team Back Street, Christchurch batted first and made 77 for 5 from 15 overs, with Larry Audain 20, Eldeane Huggins 18 and Leon Clarke 18. Garry Rogers bowling for Back Street took 2 for 6.
 
With the home team’s turn at batting, Back Street made 67 for 5 from 15 overs, with Bernard Liburd making 20 and former national player Noval McCall making 17. Bowling for Christchurch, Larry Audain took 3 for 15. Christchurch returned home with a 10-run victory.
 
Out of three games played, Christchurch has now won two. They will on Sunday November 20 face Molineux in the first game of the afternoon. Molineux who have also played three games have however won only one game and they look forward to upsetting the boys from Christchurch. 
 
On the other hand, Back Street of Mansion has played three games losing two and winning one. They will on Sunday November 20 face current league leaders Lodge in the second game of the afternoon. Lodge is the only team that is yet to lose a game in their three outings and are eager to maintain the winning streak on Sunday.
 
In the first game played on Sunday November 13, another of the home teams Limers (Front Street) beat a hapless Tabernacle by six wickets. The team from Tabernacle is yet to win a game in all its four outings in this year’s edition of the James Harris Cricket League.
 
Tabernacle had batted first and made 50 for 9 from 13 overs, with V. Patrick making 15. Bowling for Limers Kenneth ‘Natural’ Hazel took three for six, Kevin ‘Love Sponge’ Bradshaw taking two for three and T. Henry taking two for six.
 
When Limers went in to bat, the team made 51 for 4 from 9 overs with Kenneth ‘Natural’ Hazel making 25, while bowling for Tabernacle V. Patrick took two for nine. Limers won by six wickets.
 
Both Limers and Tabernacle will take a break for one week to return for action on November 27, where in the first game of the afternoon Limers will take on Molineux, while Tabernacle will in the second game take on Back Street.
