Chef Gary With Over 35 Years of Experience in The Culinary Arts to Prepare St. Kitts And Nevis’ National Dish at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai, UAE, November 15, 2021 (SKNIS): Dion “Chef Gary” Williams, a well-known chef in St. Kitts and Nevis, who has had over 35 years of experience working in the tourism and hospitality industry, and who now owns his own business “Gary’s Catering”, will prepare the national dish of St. Kitts and Nevis for a luncheon on the country’s National Day, which will be celebrated on November 16. The luncheon will be held at Farrago Restaurant on the EXPO 2020 Dubai Site.

The menu for the national dish will comprise saltfish and coconut dumplings; sautéed breadfruit; spicy fried plantain and goat water.

Chef Gary, as he’s called, is no novice to the food and beverage industry, and has worked at the Fort Thomas Hotel for nine years, the Frigate Bay Beach Resort for nine years, the Angelus for three years, and the Timothy Beach Resort Sunset Cafe for 14 years, from where be retired to set up his own business.

“I think it is a great opportunity for me to be at EXPO 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), having worked in the industry for 35 years. I will do my best and make sure the dish is presented as it should be presented,” said Chef Gary. “I want to thank Dorietta Fraites, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee for EXPO 2020 for affording me the opportunity to be here and to represent my country.”

St. Kitts and Nevis’ National Day ceremony will include a flag-raising ceremony and playing of the national anthems of both St. Kitts and Nevis and the UAE; an official speech by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris and an official speech by a UAE representative; cultural performances by masquerades from both St. Kitts and Nevis; a performance by soca artist out of Nevis, Delly Ranks; a tour of St. Kitts and Nevis and UAE pavilions; a country media briefing; a bilateral meeting; official dinner and gift exchange, among other activities.
