CBIS HOSTS ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

By Curtis Morton

The Cecely Browne Integrated School (CBIS) or the former Special Education Unit, held its annual sports meet, on Wednesday 28th February, at the school’s ground.

The distinguished patron of the day was the hard working and long serving parent, Ms.Froncille Arthurton.

The Announcer and DJ, was Curtis Morton Jr, while other Sports Department officials in Kelvin Bramble and Tariq Browne, assisted with the on track excitement.

The athletes were not divided into houses but competed against each other in such events as endurance races; 50 meters sprints; obstacle races; dress up races; water races and more.

Add to that the excitement created by the teachers and parents, as they too got onto the track in some races of their own.

One of the highlights being Headmistress Violet Clarke, somersaulting in fantastic fashion to win the bag race.

Also intimately involved in the sports meet, were students from the nearby Ivor Walters Primary School (IWPS), as part of the schools’ integration process. They joined with the CBIS students in most of the events.

At the end of it all, all of the students from both schools, were presented with participation medals and a bag of treats.
