As the sports season heads towards its climax, one of the privately run primary schools on Nevis, the Montessori Primary School, held its annual Sports meet on Friday 9th March.
The meet was held at the Bath Village Playing field and a fair sized crowd was on hand to witness the event.
After an impressive march past and the playing of the national anthem of St. Kitts and Nevis, the athletes got on the track.
They thrilled the many parents, other family members and indeed members of the general public, in some exciting races, which culminated in a close battle for first place between the three houses involved.
The athletes competed in flat races, dress up races; stilts races and many more and were cheered on loudly in the process.
When the points were tabulated, they truly reflected the competitive nature of the event:
Blue house-450 points-champions
Red house 445 points
Green house-425 points
