The Youth and Sports Eagles senior team returned home triumphantly on Monday after winning the MARCH Madness Basketball Tournament held in St. Eustatius. The tournament took place from February 27th to March 2nd and featured representative teams from the host, St. Eustatius, as well as St. Maarten, Nevis, St. Kitts, and Tortola.
In the grand finals, the Youth and Sports Eagles defeated the St. Kitts team with a score of 101 to 61. The junior team from Youth and Sports Eagles also participated in a separate tournament but narrowly missed out on making it to the finals.
Cheslyn Hutton from the Eagles was awarded the MVP trophy in the senior tournament. The players received a warm welcome at Oualie Pier from Jamir Claxton, Principal Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Education, and Aljay Newton, Deputy Director of Sports.
