T’anna Liburd, a Nevisian athlete, has secured a spot in the World Junior Championship that will be held in Lima, Peru in August. She recorded a time of 54.95 seconds in the 400m event at the UCSD Triton Invitational, earning her 4th place overall.
Ms. Liburd is currently a freshman at Central Arizona Junior College.
It’s worth noting that the World Junior Championship is held every two years.
Additionally, it’s interesting to know that another Nevisian athlete, Meritzer Williams, is the only medalist from St. Kitts and Nevis in the World Junior Championships, having won a silver medal in the 200m event back in 2008.
