Athletics : Nevisian Kaliyah Jones Set a Record In New Jersey At the Garden State Invitational.

Freshman Kaliyah Jones from Nevis, a member of the Monroe University NYC track and field team, set a new school record in the 300m at the Garden State Invitational on Saturday, qualifying her for Nationals in Lubbock, TX.

Kaliyah clocked a time of 40.46 seconds, breaking the previous Mustang record of 43.52 seconds, set by Teena Mobley in 2014.

After 11 years, Jones now holds the top spot in the Monroe record books for the 300m.
