The Bank of Nevis High Schools’ Championship took place at the Nevis Athletic Stadium over two days: Saturday, March 1st, and Sunday, March 2nd.
The participating schools included Charlestown Secondary (the defending champions), Gingerland Secondary, Nevis International Secondary, which teamed up with Immaculate Conception Secondary School from St. Kitts, and the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School from Anguilla, who was invited as a special guest.
The competition was fierce and highly entertaining. Over the two days, the athletes showcased their skills in events such as javelin, shot put, high jump, long jump, 400 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, 1200 meters, 1500 meters, 100 meters, as well as the 4×100 and 4×400 relay races.
Sunday’s program faced disruptions due to intermittent rain, but this did not dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic crowd, who remained at the stadium until the final thrilling 4×400 relay race.
Ultimately, the Charlestown Secondary Lions celebrated victory after successfully defending their title from the previous year.
