There was real excitement at the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School on Friday 4th February.
Not only did the junior and senior students engage in their road relays, but the race of the day, certainly took the cake!
The teachers decided to have a cross country event of their own and the students and other onlookers were buzzing in anticipation. The starting point was at PANCHO’s in Cole Hill and they ran to the finish line at the school.
It was a joy to witness the pre-race exercises and loads of talk about the presence of Shelly-Ann Frazer and Elaine Thompson.
At the end of it all, Dilesha Dore stormed home in the first place, by a long shot.
The crowning moment was to see a sporting Headmistress, Shenelle Pemberton, virtually escorted in by the entire student body, in a grand entourage, in the 13th spot!
