Ambassador Of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Presents Credentials to St. Kitts And Nevis

Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS): In a notable move towards strengthening diplomatic ties, His Excellency Abdullah bin Muhammad Alsaihani, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presented his credentials to Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Marcella Liburd, at Government House on Wednesday, November 01, 2023.

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia officially established diplomatic relations on May 29, 2016. This recent engagement is expected to fortify the existing relations and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

During his visit, His Excellency Alsaihani also extended courtesy calls to esteemed dignitaries including the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, and the Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas.

Dame Marcella Liburd warmly welcomed Ambassador Alsaihani and congratulated him on his new role.

“We are happy that you are here as the new Ambassador. We are hoping that the bonds will not only be strengthened with St. Kitts and Nevis, but also with the wider Caribbean,” expressed Dame Marcella.

The Governor-General underscored the Federation’s aspiration to deepen the relationship with Saudi Arabia in pursuit of transforming St. Kitts and Nevis into a Sustainable Island State.

“We want both countries to strengthen the relationship and we can enhance some of the things we are trying to do especially when it comes to transforming St. Kitts and Nevis,” said the governor-general.

This occasion marks a pivotal moment in the diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both nations anticipate that this gesture will pave the way for mutual growth, understanding, and collaboration across various sectors.
