President of the Nevis Netball Association, Vera Herbert on Monday confirmed that all systems were basically in place for the commencement of the 2013 local Netball league.
Five teams have so far confirmed participation in the island wide tournament which is set to commence on Saturday 20th April at the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex at 5.30 pm with a march past of the participating teams. This will be followed by a brief opening ceremony and a knockout competition between the teams will be the high point of the evening.
The teams so far confirmed for the tournament hail from Bath Village; Stoney Grove; Gingerland; Cotton Ground and there is a development team comprising of young upcoming players.
According to President Herbert, there will be a meeting with the teams on Wednesday 17th April in order to fine tune all aspects of the tournament.
There will be no spectator charges for matches played during the week but there will be a $5.00 charge for matches played on Saturdays and Sundays.
Ms Herbert is inviting the general public to come on out and witness the very exciting matches and is confident that the tournament will be exciting and competitive.
