Football action continued in the Legend’s cup on Tuesday 17th September.
Beyond Homes All Stars locked horns with an impressively suited Brantley Bronx United team, fresh from receiving spanking brand new uniforms, compliments of the sponsor, the Hon. Mark Brantley.
However, it was the All Stars team which created the most pressure in the first half because of the constant build up of pressure on the Bronx defense, they secured three corner kicks very early in the half, but failed to capitalize on their chances.
The All stars defense also played stoutly and ‘Vincie’ and Curtis Morton Jr were outstanding in keeping Cardin Powell and Captain Shaheed Tyson at bay.
Things got worse for the Bronx men as Shaheed Tyson in moving aggressively towards the goal, was found guilty of dangerous play by FIFA referee, Kimbell Ward and immediately issued his walking ticket…the dreaded red card.
Shortly thereafter, Noah Mills made a fast break on the right flank and Andre Matthew tapped home the cross, leaving goalie Tesson Hamilton flat footed.
Noah Mills soon made a conversion of his own before the half time whistle, much to the delight of newly acquired Coach, Charles Morton.
The Bronx men seemed re-energized in the second half and a Cardin Powell goal raised their hopes but the All Stars team continued to press forward with a 3rd goal off the boot of Curtis Morton Jr and they defended that lead right down to the final whistle.
Final score:
Beyond Home All Stars 3 Brantley Bronx United 1
Goal scorers for All Stars: Andre Matthew; Noah Mills and Curtis Morton Jr.
Brantley Bronx United: Cardin Powell
