All Stars Crash Jets

The first match in the 2019 edition of the Sports Department/Development Bank tape ball Cricket tournament, took place at the ET Willet Park, on Sunday 29th September.

SDA Jets engaged All-Stars.

The Jets won the toss and elected to bat first and immediately found it difficult to get the ball off the square, thanks to tidy bowling from the All-stars bowlers.  It was a combination of Trishawn Francis and Malik Wallace who gave the innings some momentum in the latter overs.  Jets got to 76 for 3 from the allotted 10 overs.

The All-Stars men in response, batted as if they had a plane to catch.  They used just a bare 4.1 overs to get to the target, with the man of the match Tonito Willet, leading the charge with 14 balls 44 not out. This included four huge maximums.

Summarized scores:

SDA Jets 76 for 3 in 10 overs:

Trishawn Francis 29*;

Malik Wallace 13*

Akadianto Willet 2 for 8;

Javarni Tyson 1 for 19

All-Stars 80 for 2 in 4.1 overs:

Tonito Willet 44*;

Saeed Williams 17*;

Javarni Tyson 15

Malik Wallace 2 for 28

All-Stars won by 8 wickets

The tournament continues at the ET Willet Park on Wednesday 2nd October with two more matches, starting at 5 pm.
